The plain-English guide

How to use LoadLens.

Everything the app does, written out properly: install it, search, read the flags, bid, set your daily alerts, and what your limits mean. No jargon, nothing skipped.

What LoadLens is.

LoadLens finds loads for UK courier drivers on Courier Exchange, helps you quote and bid, and keeps watch on the routes you drive. It reads each load before you quote and flags the problems: missing weight, backload rates on a job posted as direct, 60 and 90 day payment terms, anything below your floor.

The app has five tabs: Search, Dashboard, Bids, Your fleet and Wallet. Everything runs from one account, and nothing is ever sent to Courier Exchange without your tap.

Good to know: your first 30 days are free, no card. Bids only ever go out when you tap.

Putting it on your phone.

On iPhone

Open app.loadlens.co.uk in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. It then works like a native app: full screen, opens from your home screen, and remembers where you were.

It isn’t in the App Store yet. The Add to Home Screen route is the honest way on for now, and it is the same app.

On Android

Open the same address in Chrome. You’ll get an install prompt, or you can use Install app from the browser menu. Same app, same account.

On desktop

It runs in the browser, no install needed. Chrome and Edge can add it as an app from the install icon in the address bar if you want it pinned.

Reading a load card.

Every result comes back as a card with the things you’d normally have to dig for, on top:

The flags are the point. You skim them instead of reading the whole board, so the jobs that would burn you get spotted before you quote, not after you’ve driven 200 miles.

Bidding.

  1. Tap Quote on a load card for a price estimate before you commit. Any price we suggest comes from your own completed jobs on CX, never a shared pool.
  2. Submit your own price and vehicle as the bid. You can bid on the same load once every 24 hours; trying again sooner gets a clear refusal, not a second bid.
  3. If a weird price slips a finger, we ask you to confirm anything way outside your usual before it goes near CX.
  4. When you win, the load shows in your Bids tab as won and you can accept it right there.

The Bids tab keeps every bid you have placed with where it stands: still waiting on a reply, turned down, or accepted and booked. Nothing disappears when your search results clear.

Your first bids aren’t real, on purpose. In trial mode we fill in the real CX quote form and show you exactly what it would have submitted, then stop short of hitting Submit. Nothing lands on CX until you’re ready for real bidding.

Daily alerts.

A daily alert keeps checking a saved search every day, so you don’t have to run it yourself. You set one from the search form on the Search tab, and manage your saved alerts in the Daily alerts card there.

When an alert finds loads you get a notification. The bell icon at the top of the app holds your notifications.

Why a watch can show Paused

If your Courier Exchange session is dead for 3 days in a row, the alert goes dormant and stops checking, and it shows as Paused. Nothing is broken and you don’t need to set it up again: reconnect Courier Exchange from Settings and the alert starts again on its own.

Limits and refunds.

Refunds, in plain words

If a search fails before it starts checking, it does not count against your limits. Once a search has started, it counts, even if it finds nothing. Refunds are capped at 3 an hour to stop misuse.

Your account.

Signing in

Sign in with your email and password, or with an email code using the link on the sign-in screen. Both get you into the same account. Five wrong password attempts lock password sign-in for a while; the email code still works.

Your details

Your name, mobile number and photo live on the Settings screen. Your photo stays on this device. Signing out only signs you out on that device.

Courier Exchange

Your CX account is connected from Settings. Your login details are stored encrypted so the app can search for you. If searches stop finding loads or the app asks for a code again, your CX session has probably expired; use Change CX login to reconnect.

Deleting your account

There is no delete button in the app yet. To delete your account and its data, email hello@loadlens.co.uk and the team will sort it for you.

Questions we get.

You can run 30 searches a day, at most 10 in any hour, with a one minute wait between searches. You can keep up to 5 saved daily alerts. You can also start up to 2 search alerts (keep searching) a day, where each one watches your route for up to 3 hours. Your live usage for today is on the Settings screen under Your daily limits.

Go to the Search tab and pick a start location, a radius, your vehicle size and the day: Today, Tomorrow or Any time. You can add a destination as well, which searches the route in both directions for return loads. Results stream in while the search runs, so the first loads usually appear within the first minute.

A search can finish with nothing if no loads on Courier Exchange match your route, vehicle and day at that moment. It is worth trying a wider radius, a broader vehicle range or a different day. If every search keeps coming back empty, your Courier Exchange session may have expired: use Change CX login in Settings to reconnect.

Both get you into the same account, so use whichever suits you. Password sign-in is the quickest if you have set a password. The email code is the alternative: follow the link on the sign-in screen and a code is emailed to you. If password sign-in is ever locked after five wrong attempts, the email code still works.

Your last chosen vehicle range is remembered on this device and pre-filled on every search, shown as Your van in Settings. To change it, just pick a different size or range on the search form. Sizes are Small Van, Midi Van, SWB, MWB, LWB, XLWB, Luton, 7.5T, Car and Motorcycle, and you can pick a range such as SWB to LWB so one search covers several sizes.

LoadLens uses your data to run the app: your searches, alerts, bids and your Courier Exchange connection. Your Courier Exchange login details are stored encrypted so the app can search for you. Your profile photo never leaves your device, and signing out only signs you out on that device. We count app usage events with no cookies and no personal data.
